How realistic is it?
People who have seen one of our artificial lawns have often told us that they did not know it was artificial without looking extremely closely!
How much maintenance is needed?
Artificial grass needs much less maintenance than a real lawn. You may need to collect debris such as leaves, twigs and seedlings occasionally.
Can I just lay artificial grass on top of my existing lawn?
We don’t advise laying artificial grass and leaving the real grass underneath it. The real grass will rot and disturb the surface. Soil should be removed from the surface and the surface prepared as described in our Artificial Grass Installation Guide.
Can artificial grass be installed on slopes?
Yes, artificial grass can be installed on slopes, but if it is to be walked on the slope should be no steeper than 1:7 (about 15% or 8.5°).
Are your lawns safe for children?
Yes. Many nurseries and schools have installed artificial grass surfaces, as they provide a safe, clean playing surface. Artificial grass is an ideal football surface – and children can keep clean and won’t bring mud into your home.
Can it be used with my pets?
Pets love the soft feel of our artificial grass lawns. Any mess can be easily taken up, just like a real lawn. The artificial grass is stain resistant and rain naturally rinses it through small holes in the underside (these are invisible from above) so it does not smell.
What is artificial grass like to walk on?
It is soft and springy. A sand dressing, if used, provides more bounce than conventional grass.
Can you use a barbecue on it?
The artificial grass is naturally fire retardant, and a sand dressing gives further protection, if used. We do recommend that the barbecue should be placed on slabs or something similar to ensure that the lawn is protected.
Can artificial grass be used around swimming pools or spas?
Yes. It is ideal as a luxury pool surround. We recommend that a 1 metre (3ft) gap is left between the artificial grass and the pool to prevent chlorine discolouration. |
